I have not been able to update this blog and apologize for that. Winter came and passed and the spring is here which means lots of fun activities will start and it is time for me to get back to my blogging again.

Here is what is going to happen in the coming days in Nice and Antibes. For those of you who don't skeap French: 12-15 of April : Egg hunt at the Phoneix park in Nice (the one on RN7 close to Nice Airport). And in Antibes children of  age 3-8 can spend 45 magical minutes to listen to historical stories from various parts of France. If you have kids, I really recommend you to go and visit there, it is a lot of fun, even if your kids don't speak French, they will enjoy the show a lot.

Only 2 more days left of the wonderful Jazz festival in Nice. As always, they are not only Jazz but also other types of music available there too, for example today you will have Seal at 10pm after Charles Bradly at 7:30pm and Macy Gray at 8:30pm.

On the New Generation part you have winner of Tremplin NJF at 7:30, Trombone Sroty & Orleans Avenue at 8:15pm followed by Avishai Cohen at 9:30

Summer is here, so is all the fun you can imaging.

One of my absolute favorites are the firesworks. This year Juan Les Pins will have 4 nights of fireworks, the first 3 will be in town and the last one on August 24 will be at Fort-Carre in Antibes.

51st JAZZ A JUAN 2011 - PRESS FILE

After a few weeks in America, we set off for the festival of Antibes, in the South of France. We blew them away. In 1963, Miles Davis was in for a shock: In Antibes, an immense poster of me was stuck up near my hotel. I thought: what a world it is; I don’t get that in New York but here, thousands of people come especially to listen to you and treat you like a brother.

Another family reunion this year in Juan, honouring with pomp one of the greatest trumpet players in the history of jazz, who passed away twenty years ago. All the artists performing on the legendary stage in the pine grove will have a thought for Miles Davis, from Jamie Cullum ( I discovered the festival through recordings of Keith Jarrett and Miles Davis ) to Marcus Miller ( He taught me to be myself ), without forgetting of course those with whom he lived the great adventure Jazz à Juan : Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. And also all those who, at some point during their career, crossed the sunlit path of this blue note mutant. They will all come together again for this festival, an annual celebration.

Because Juan, as Joshua Redman said so well, is « a true festival, not a series of concerts, a real community which meets up each year in a particular place, at a particular time. Everyone is there sharing a same passion, living jazz physically. » On the main stage of course, but also all around, in the streets and during the "afters", where the jazz gains its true dimension : Juan-les-Pins, it’s not just a stage, it’s a legend for me: Juan-les-Pins, it’s what Carnegie Hall is to classical music. Every time I’ve heard Juan mentioned, it’s been the height of greatness of jazz. (John McLaughlin)

Le Festival du Conte, organisé par le Conseil général des Alpes-Maritimes, célèbre en 2010 son vingtième anniversaire.

20 ans de rencontres, 20 ans de convivialité, 20 ans de succès.

Dans un monde en perpétuelle surenchère technologique, il est remarquable qu’une manifestation fondée sur la mémoire orale, sur les traditions universelles et sur la sagesse populaire recueille un tel succès durable.

Le Festival du Conte des Alpes-Maritimes est avant tout une histoire de rencontres, sur le parvis d’églises baroques, sur les places de nos villages ou dans des écrins de verdure. C’est une histoire de rendez-vous ensorceleurs, en plein cœur de l’été, entre de multiples mémoires francophones et un public fidèle qui se réjouit de les découvrir au cœur du patrimoine de notre département.

Cette vingtième édition est l’occasion de retrouvailles endiablées avec quelques-uns de ces artistes aux accents chamarrés.

Des compagnons des premiers jours aux plus récents coups de foudre, chacun a promis d’offrir le meilleur de lui-même : création inédite, nouveau spectacle, succès plébiscité. La fête aux histoires promet d’être belle. Et pour qu’elle soit plus éclatante encore, c’est sur des rythmes manouches, sur des harmonies à l’oud, des arpèges à la guitare que la parole dansera dans cet esprit  de tolérance et de diversité culturelle qui a toujours animé le festival.

Gageons que petites et grandes oreilles, d’ici, d’ailleurs et de plus loin encore, conserveront le souvenir des soirées de qualité qui ont constellé les soirées étoilées des vingt ans passés.

Je forme le vœu que cette vingtième édition du Festival du Conte des Alpes-Maritimes soit le prélude d’une nouvelle série de soirées enchanteresses pour petits et grands.

A l’occasion du week-end de la Pentecôte, la Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, l’un des joyaux de la Côte d’Azur, célèbre la rose sous toutes ces formes : les 22, 23 et 24 mai

To mark the weekend of the Pentecost, the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, a jewel of the Cote d'Azur built during the Belle Epoque by Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, the famous pink in all its forms. This great event will bring together rose growers and gardeners, but also craftsmen working on the theme of pink and flowers.

This first edition of the Rose Festival begins Saturday, May 22 at noon. Elle est parrainée par la ville de Grasse qui accueille chaque année la fameuse Exporose. It is sponsored by the city of Grasse, which annually hosts the famous Exporose.

Some rose growers and nurserymen and gardeners will be present to help you discover a great variety of Mediterranean plants and roses.

Many craftsmen will also be there to present and offer their products:
